On May 31 1856 Richard Andrews was elected as Mayor but he resigned on Dec 22nd. John Traffells Tucker had also served as Sheriff of Southampton in 1849. Regards Vicwinann ___________ dec 2008 found a refernce on Christies web site to JT Tucker as follows: Alderman John Traffels, Mayor of Southamton, 1853 Price Realized * £110 Sale Information Sale 6680 cameras and optical toys 24 November 1994 London, South Kensington Lot Description Alderman John Traffels, Mayor of Southamton, 1853 A 4½ x 6½ inch (approx.) daguerreotype, gilt mount, glazed and framed, later caption on reverse Mr Alderman...Tucker J.P. in his robes as Admiral of the Port of Southampton, taken during his term of office as Mayor of Southampton.
